Send us the listing. We arrange the appointment with the seller in German, send a certified engineer to inspect the car in person, and give you the written report in English within 24 hours. If you’d rather we found the car for you, we do that too.

We don’t sell cars. We take no commission from sellers. We work for you only.

Two ways to start

You’ve already found something — or you’d like us to find it

Most people start with a listing they’re unsure about. Some ask us to search from the beginning. Both work, and you can switch at any point.

Why it matters

A German listing tells you less than you think

The German used-car market is one of the largest and best-supplied in Europe. It is also written in a language of its own — and the words that matter most are the ones that get left out.

  • „Unfallfrei“ is not a guarantee. It appears on cars that have been repaired more than once.
  • Photos are chosen, not neutral. The side that isn’t shown is usually the side worth seeing.
  • Service history can be incomplete. A stamped book is not the same as a documented one.
  • You can’t be in two places. A car 600 km away, or in another country, stays a photo gallery until someone stands in front of it.
  • Sellers rarely answer in English. And a private seller who feels uncertain simply stops replying.
Why us

Most car brokers buy the inspection in. We are the inspection.

fahrzeugcheck123 started as an independent vehicle inspection service — pre-purchase checks and post-accident appraisals, carried out by qualified engineers across Germany. The buying service grew out of that network. That order is the whole difference.

A typical car broker

  • Books a workshop inspection when you ask for one
  • Earns more when the car costs more
  • Often has dealer relationships to protect
  • Sends you listing links and lets you decide
  • Report quality depends on whoever showed up

fahrzeugcheck123

  • Inspection is the core service, not a bought-in extra
  • Fixed fees — we don’t gain from you paying more
  • No dealer network to protect; we sell nothing
  • We assess each car and tell you which to walk away from
  • One checklist, one report standard, every time
How it works

From listing to report in about a week

You’re involved twice: when you send the link, and when we discuss the result. Everything in between is ours.

1

Send us the listing

Paste the link — one car or up to three. Add anything you already know or worry about. Two minutes.

Your part
2

We sanity-check it first, free

Before you pay anything, we tell you whether the asking price is realistic for that car and whether anything in the listing looks off. Sometimes that alone saves you the trip.

3

We contact the seller

In German, on your behalf. We agree a time and explain that an independent engineer will come — most sellers are fine with it, and a serious buyer behind the request helps.

4

Our engineer inspects the car

On site, on the seller’s premises: bodywork, paint thickness, undercarriage, diagnostics, documents, test drive. Photographed throughout.

5

You get the report in English

Usually within 24 hours of the appointment. Plain findings, photos, and our judgement on whether the asking price fits the actual condition.

6

Then it’s your call

Walk away, buy it yourself, or hand the next part to us — negotiation, contract, and for buyers abroad the full purchase and export. Each of those is a separate fixed price. Nothing is bundled in without you choosing it.

Your part
Two things that can go wrong, and what we do about them: the car gets sold before we arrive, or a private seller refuses the inspection. In both cases we cancel and refund you in full, by bank transfer. You never pay for a car we couldn’t get to.
Pricing

Pick only what you need

Every part of the service has a published fixed price. Start with an inspection and stop there, or add the rest as you go.

Why is this more than our German price list? Because the service is more. Every step here runs in English: we deal with the seller in German so you never have to, the report is written in English, and you get a call with someone who can answer your questions properly. That coordination costs us more, so it costs about 10 % more. The inspection itself is the same one, by the same engineers, to the same standard.
Questions

Before you ask

Can I just send you a listing without any other service?

Yes — that’s the most common way people use us. One car, one fixed price, report in English. No search, no package, no obligation to book anything else afterwards.

What if the car is sold before you get there?

You get your money back in full, by bank transfer. Used cars move fast in Germany and that isn’t your fault.

What if the seller won’t allow an inspection?

Same — full refund. It happens occasionally with private sellers; dealers almost never refuse. We tell you within a day or two of booking whether the appointment is confirmed.

Who actually inspects the car?

Vehicle mechanics, body specialists and testing engineers, certified through DESAG. Not a general inspector with a checklist — someone who repairs and assesses cars for a living.

Do I need to be in Germany?

No. For the inspection you never need to be there — we go, you get the report. If you also want us to buy the car and send it to you, that’s the Full Service Remote package.

What if the inspection finds problems?

Then you’ve spent a few hundred euros instead of fifteen thousand on the wrong car. That is the entire point. Send us the next listing — or ask us to search properly.

Who pays whom?

You pay us our fee. You pay the seller the purchase price directly. We never handle your purchase money — it keeps the transaction clean and keeps you in control.

How fast is it?

Free listing check: same or next working day. Inspection: typically three to seven days, depending on the seller’s availability and where the car is. Report: within 24 hours of the appointment.

Which languages do you work in?

English and German today. Spanish, French, Dutch and Czech are coming as we expand.

Do you take money from dealers?

No. We receive nothing from sellers, dealers, workshops or platforms — our entire income is the fee you pay. That’s why we can tell you to walk away.
